Internet Technologies Angola Opens Computer Labs at a School in Uíge

Internet Technologies Angola (ITA) today inaugurated two new computer rooms at the Manuel Quarta Punza Polytechnic Institute in the city of Uíge. The initiative is part of the company's social responsibility project, "Golfe Solidário" (Solidarity Golf), and will benefit more than 1,500 students at the educational institution.

In a statement sent to our editorial office, ITA states that the two computer rooms, fully equipped with IT resources, will promote access to information technology for more than 1,500 students in grades 10 to 13.  The initiative is part of the "strategy to promote literacy and digital inclusion among the next generations of Angolans, in line with the Angolan government's goals in this area," explained the company's general director, Francisco Pinto Leite.

The achievement is the result of an investment of more than 30 million kwanzas, which is the sum of contributions from participants and partners in the 10th edition of Golfe Solidário and from the company.

“As a technology company, we know that technology is fundamental to increasing the digital literacy of our young people in the job market, for their development and future. Through the Solidarity Golf Tournament and other initiatives, we work enthusiastically to promote access to information technologies in more remote areas of the country, or those without as much access to the digital world, thus creating conditions for quality digital education and reducing disparities across the country," said Francisco Pinto Leite.

Created over a decade ago by ITA, the "Solidarity Golf" tournament is an internal digital inclusion program aimed at refurbishing and equipping classrooms with computer equipment, creating conditions for internet access.

As a result of the 11th "Solidarity Golf" Tournament, held in September this year, schools in the province of Cabinda will be the next to benefit from computer rooms, the company said in a statement.
